Herdís Ágústa Linnet

Pianist

Herdís Ágústa Linnet (1998) graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, in 2022, with a Bachelor degree in classical piano performance. She is currently studying for her Master’s degree in performance and chamber music with the teachers prof. Anders Kilström and prof. Stefan Bojsten, at the same school. Herdís studied at Reykjavík College of music where her teacher was Svana Víkingsdóttir, during high school. Herdís was a member of the Iceland Symphony Youth orchestra for many years, playing both trumpet and piano/celesta. Herdís sang as a member of the Hamrahlid Choir under the guidance of Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir, for a few years, and participated in many projects, including concerts with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Björk Guðmundsdóttir. Herdís has performed with the Royal Technology Choir in Stockholm, Elja - chamber ensemble, the Hamrahlid Gymnasium choir and premiered contemporary music of young composers, both in Iceland and Stockholm. Herdís has also studied jazz piano and composed music for choir, as well as arranged Icelandic folk music. Herdís has gotten a few awards from the music festival Nótan, in Iceland, as a piano soloist and a trumpet chamber musician. Herdís is a board member of Gothenburg's Piano Festival and will make her orchestra solo debut with Grieg's piano concerto in the fall of 2023.
